About Us
A Legacy of Work Well Done
How We Started and
Where We're Going
Our company was founded in 1966 by Lester L. Rowe and has since built a reputation of high-quality service within the Midwest region. We started out in what is now the heart of Columbus, NE on 14th Avenue.

In 1985 Husker Steel purchased what was then the Sperry's building, and moved out to the edge of town and closer to the railroad tracks. Lester's son, Mike Rowe, worked for the family since the business's first days when he was just 17 years old, but it wasn't until 2001 when Lester retired that Mike took over as CEO.

Today, we're still on 29th Avenue East and just as dedicated to minimizing cost without compromising quality just like we were over 55 years ago. With Mike Rowe's son, Mike Rowe Jr., working as Husker Steel's engineer currently the family legacy looks to continue on for years to come.

Whether you need estimating, detailing, and/or fabricating, give us a call to see if our steel products and services are right for your next project.
